5 Picnic Tips & Hacks

  1. Protect your vintage blankets and charming quilts from the damp grass by laying a shower curtain or plastic table cloth down first. I always have a couple extra plastic table cloths on hand that I have picked up at the Dollar Store.

  2. Pack heavy items in your picnic basket first to avoid squashing soft items.

  3. Pack a knife, you can’t cut anything with plastic silverware.

  4. Frozen water bottles serve as both a great ice pack to keep food chilled and as a cold beverage as the ice melts.

  5. If you’re at a picnic table on a windy day a fitted sheet makes an excellent picnic table cover and it won’t fly off with the wind.

Hi Linda, my dear friend!! I love the idea of using Twinkies for your shortcake--no danger of spoilage, and individually wrapped. If the heat down here in Lower Alabama ever lets up, Paul and I can venture outside, with plenty of Cutter's bug repellant. With the ever-present threat of rain showers here, I never go out of the house without a lightweight waterproof hoodie. The University of Redlands logo helps identify my son Kriss, daughter Heidi, and me!
