It’s my 2-year website anniversary!! And we have some CELEBRATING to do!
I will be sharing with you a great way to reach out to others, an exciting drawing, and an autumn picnic on California's Central Coast!!!!
Have you been enjoying some summer reading like I have? There is a great book out that is all about connecting with your neighbors. I have read and reread it and I love it. My challenge (and maybe it’s yours as well) is that so many of the opportunities that the Lord brings to me are nowhere near my front door. How do we then extend that connection to them? How do we encourage and influence people in this drive through, stretched to the max society we’ve created? Connecting and caring isn’t about i-time it’s about eye-time. Romans 1:11-12 speaks of this, “For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.”
With summer here what better way to connect with a picnic in the great outdoors? Our warm sunshine means plenty of time for casual outdoor opportunities to share, listen and have fun together!! So grab a picnic basket and unfurl that old blanket it’s time to create special memories with family and friends!
Click on one of the new posts in “A Home to Keep” listed below where you will find these helpful and fun ideas to make your picnic the best and memorable ever!!
Next I want to share an exciting DRAWING that you’ll be entered in when you leave a comment on my website, you are all my community and I love hearing from you and connecting. The drawing is for a lovely:

A little back story to the pictures in this post. As I prepared to take the pictures, I
looked at my setting and I knew I needed something more. Cheese and crackers?
Grapes, maybe strawberries… Then it came to me, a lovely loaf of French bread!
Not an easy thing to do when the sun is at the perfect angle and I needed it right
then! Except I have a wonderful friend named Madeleine (my daughter-in-law’s
mother) who is a chef extraordinaire! You can see her cute cottage in the
background in some of the pictures. She bakes homemade French bread a couple
times a week and she was so gracious to give me one!
Thank you, Madeleine!
Hi Auntie Linda :) Oh how I wish that me, Amber and Mom could join you guys on the Coast for a picnic! I love and miss you.
Summer picnics have always been a favorite of mine, especially when my kids were young. It didn't cost much and the dividends were priceless! It actually goes back to an experience I had when I was a young girl. My dad was between jobs and we didn't have a lot of money. My mom got very creative and took us on a picnic I will never forget! Thanks for the memory jog! :). I'll be coming to the picnic if at all possible! Hugs always!
Hi Linda! Miss you much but love following you and your beautiful posts and pix. The weather is SoCal has been a bit too hot to have an afternoon picnic just yet. But an indoor one with flowers and succulants would do the trick in the meantime!
Loved the Twinkie/strawberry idea! Much love,
Pat
